What do you love about Newborn Babies?

I thought I would start a list of all the things we love about newborn babies. Please add your favorite things in the comments. To get you started I've put a few:

• They’re ever so soft skin.

• The center on the top of their heads where all their hair radiates out from- I call it the Center of the Universe.

• The skin they have to still grow into.

• Those deep deep pools that stare at you ever so innocently but with a hint of such wisdom.

• The sweet smell, a milky fresh bread smell.

• Trust, they radiate trust.

• The way they curl up into little balls.
  

• The back arching stretch.

Gotta love that bottom lip when it comes out quivering, not sure whether or not to cry, often the babies are laughing 5 seconds later. Its a fine line between crying and laughing as they try our emotions (I know how they feel). Newlife Photography

I just adore this image- the beautiful way that he is holding onto his wrist, the way the other hand hangs languidly, the cute little toes and the perspective of size that the fathers hand provides. It's poetry in image.

This is baby William (top three) doing his before and after shot, just like his baby brother Harrison (bottom two). I'm always amazed how babies from the same family tend do the same thing. Don't these two brothers look alike!

Today in the studio I was talking to some clients who had brought in their third child for his photos like his elder brother and sister had done with us. They were telling me how much they appreciate and love the photos that they have of their other two children. They said that at the time it seemed like a big thing to have splurged on but as the time goes on and the babies continually change, the memory of the expense vanishes and only the precious memories of such a special and quickly passing time remains. They are so glad that they will always have these photos. I totally understand as I know how important and cherished the photos of my children but its always affirming to hear how much people appreciate what we do. Thank you.

Lotus for Hope- Newlife Photography pregnancy photography

I've been running into this client a few times recently and saw this beautiful little one all grown up into a cheeky and brazen little toddler. She still looks the same with those beautiful lips and she reminded me of this beautiful pregnancy photo, when she was still brewing, with the lotus, one of my favorite flowers and ever so hard to find. The lotus flower represents purity and hope as the flower rises up high above the murky and muddy water it grows out of, pristine and reaching for the heavens- how appropriate for pregnancy. www.newlifephotography.com
